Epson is a global imaging and innovation leader whose product lineup ranges from inkjet printers and 3LCD projectors to sensors and other microdevices. Epson’s history began in 1942, when predecessor company Daiwa Kogyo was founded as a manufacturer of watch parts.
Under the company climate of creativity and challenge, Epson expanded on its traditional strengths to develop the compact, energy-saving and high-precision technologies. In 1964, the compact tabletop quartz clock, Crystal Chronometer QC-951, and printing timer were created for using in the Olympic Games in Tokyo. The machines played important roles at the event and inspired the company to expand super-micro processing and precision technologies into printing industry, launching world's first mini-printer EP-101 in 1968. This popular and groundbreaking product opened up the markets and the Epson brand was founded in 1975. Ever since then, high quality Epson products, such as color inkjet printers that made printing photos at home possible, and projectors that revolutionized the way presentations, have been introduced to the market to wide acclaim.
Established in 1980, Epson Hong Kong Limited (formerly Epson Electronics Trading Limited) is responsible for sales, marketing and services in Hong Kong, Macau and Mongolia. Epson products include information related equipment (printers, scanners, and projectors), electronic devices (TFT displays, semiconductors, and quartz crystals), Point of Sales (POS) products and a wide range of Watch Movement. It has always committed to provide customers with true value in form of products and services that satisfy their needs. Untiring dedication to excellence, along with support and encouragement from the marketplace, has allowed Epson Hong Kong to grow as a reputable and trustworthy company.

In 1995, Epson Hong Kong has received the Stratospheric Ozone Protection Award, granted by US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in recognition of its pioneer role in supporting the Hong Kong government's activities against Ozone-Depleting Substances (ODS).
To meet higher conservation standards, Epson Hong Kong was rewarded with the bronze award in the prestigious Import and Export Trades Sector of the 2011 Hong Kong Awards for Environmental Excellence in 2012.
In 2023, Epson Hong Kong Limited has joined WWF-Hong Kong Corporate Membership Programme as a Silver member and Green Council Corporate Membership as a Bronze member, to protect the environment and make contribution to sustainability.
