What are the advantages of printing directly onto a CD/DVD instead of printing a label and attaching it to the disc?
1. Lower Cost
Purchase only inkjet printable discs, instead of both discs and adhesive labels, and you can save up to 50%.
It's an easy, one-step process. You won't have to waste time dealing with label placement.
3. Reduce Potential Drive Damage
Avoid possible damage to your CD/DVD drive or player, which can sometimes occur with labels that peel off from heat, wear and time. Many manufacturers of CD and DVD drives warn customers against using adhesive labels on CDs or DVDs because the adhesive label could peel off and damage the drive.
The Epson Stylus Photo Printers that offer direct CD/DVD printing capabilities are compatible with many different brands of inkjet printable CDs/DVDs. They include Memorex, Imation, Maxell, TDK, Verbatim, Mitsui, Ritek, Taiyo Yuden and others. However, results may vary as manufacturers of inkjet printable CDs/DVDs may alter the printable surface without notice. Epson does not guarantee consistent quality among all media types.
The following are software products currently available that support direct CD/DVD printing. Compatibility requirements may vary from product to product. Epson has provided this list for informational purposes only, so that you can get started in creating your own customized CDs/DVDs. We cannot guarantee compatibility. This list may be updated periodically.
