Yes, this is done with the included ABBYYFineReader Software. This software has the option to make a searchable and editable document. It is the OCR software itself that has this ability and not the scanner.

When I select an area to scan, sometimes it twists the photo, why?

The photo is perfectly aligned on the scanner, but the finished scan has the photo rotated. I cannot figure out why this happening. What am I doing wrong?

Depending on the scanning utility used, it could be the auto skew correction is disabled. If using Epson Scan this is found in the configuration button and clicking on the Other tab at the top. If this does not resolve the issue or there is another symptom, please contact Epson support at 562-276-4382 and a rep can more quickly assist.

Do any Epson scanners work with Microfiche 4X6?

I have Microfiche from the 90's that is 4X6 with 12 images across and 5 rows. I'm am desperately trying to find a scanner than can scan these without paying thousands of dollars. Does your scanner support this where it would detect and scan each individual page to a different file? We tried using the perfection V600 but it's scan window isn't large enough for this film type and it takes 12 minutes to scan one page at 4800dpi. Any chance you'll support USB 3.0 so it doesn't take so lone to scan at hi res?

Yes, the V700 should handle the film size you have given. However you may have to manually marqee each page to save to individual files.

How do i scan multiple time on this scanner?

i am able to select different small frame from the whole flame. however i wonder is there any way i can scan multiple time for the same area for ever frames that i selected?

If you are looking to scan multiple times the same image or frame due to different settings per pass, this would not be possible as the scan settings would need to be changed before each scan is done.

Dear Orthopedo -- yes you can do that - but if they are big like you are describing, experiment with what output size and resolution you want/need. You could end up with very large files. Maybe smaller thumbnails would serve your record keeping purposes.

Dear Oswego -- the V700 requires you for 35mm slides to use the supplied flat racks, or you can use the "film area guide" and just lay the 35mm's on the glass. If you have 2 1/4" slides you have to use the film area guide and lay the slides, always emulsion side up of course, on the glass -- careful, don't scratch it! There is no slide tray such as you are looking for that will work for the V700.

Gus, it scans all types of documents just fine! However there is not an automatic document feeder -- it is one page at a time. If you just have BW business docs like letters and reports I would recommend it is much faster to use the document feeder function in your multi-function printer/scanner or other piece of equipment. The V700 is more for precision scanning one "page" at a time.
