This is a very good question and can seem confusing as the higher end models at first seem to have less features.
When using a simple program such as Apple's Preview or Windows built in viewer on a 4 color model, color management is very important as you would want the printer driver to do most of the work. However with a higher end model, the user will likely have a higher end software such as PhotoShop. When a color management program such as this is used, you do not want to use the printer or driver color management. We recommend turning the Epson color Off. Using both software and driver management will cause double profiling or other color issues.
Turning the Epson color management Off, will guarantee that what you have done in PhotoShop will be sent directly to the printer without anything added. The reason you have purchased PhotoShop to begin with.
ICC profiles are used for the paper or media itself. For Epson paper, this is built into the driver and is selected by the media type. For example, the Epson photo glossy setting is specifically for Epson Photo Glossy paper. If using a 3rd party paper, you would want to contact them directly for their ICC profile.
