If used wireless, it does not need to be connected to the desktop. For this to work, either the computer would need to be wireless or connected to a wireless router. A local computer store can assist with the correct devices needed for a full wireless network.

there is no explanation of what the error is. i can't delete the printer or fax & some of the s/w(the computer freezes when i try). down loaded & instal. all software and drivers to no avail. works fine as a copier. running win 8 with win 8 drivers. less than 4 mo. old. at wits end please anyone????.... also changed usb cable.

These symptoms would show major issues with the computer or OS itself. Even if the printer was powered off or not connected should your computer freeze. Windows should give an error message instructing the printer is jammed, has a hardware problem, etc..
This is the start of more serious issues and purchasing a new printer should give more of the same results. The computer would need to be serviced. If within the warranty period, please contact the manufacturer and they should assist.

If the printer requires an ink change, there will be instructions on the control panel that will provide step through for the entire procedure. If you want to change inks even if the printer does not need to do so, press the setup button and go to printer maintenance or setup. Selecting change ink cartridge will also give teh same steps.
We do not recommend changing the inks until the printer gives a message that shows an ink change is needed to continue printing.

When my Epson Workforce 645 is printing it creates sounds of dry rubber rubbing. I believe it's the roller that rolls the paper forward (and backwards when two-sided printing). Is there something I'm suppose to be lubricating or do I need something replaced?

This should only occur if the power cord is removed or power is removed from the printer. If you only power the printer off normally but the cord is always plugged in, you should not get this message and there is a printer issue.

You would want to use Apple's built in AirPrint. There is no settings or anything needed to be changed on the printer. The iPad and printer must be on the same wireless network only. Please see your iPad's instructions or help guide on how to use Apple's AirPrint utility.

I think the customer is asking can he get an additional paper tray to use as a secondary one strictly for envelopes. Is the paper tray replacebale if ever broken. If the answer is yes then you can use a 2nd tray just for envelopes trading the trays out for envelopes or paper printing. I don't think he meant can he use 2 paper trays simultaniously.

As Epson does not make WaterColor paper that is only for our larger size models. Please consult whatever instructions that come included with that paper for printer settings. As this varies greatly depending on manufacturer, they would have the recommendations.

This shows the target printer is incorrect. When doing a File-Print, please check the printer is selected. This tells the computer where to send the data. From your description, the Fax is selected instead.
