These are 2 different types of projectors designed for different environments. You would want to make your decision based on the room environment itself as both models will show photos.
If this is to be used in a home theatre with dimmed lighting, the HC8350 would be the way to go with 50,000:1 contrast and 1080p resolution.
If this is for a large conference room with bright lighting, the PL4650 would be recommended with 5200lumens of brightness.

This can be found by using our easy to use Image Size Calculator at the right of this page. By choosing your projector, you can use a mouse to slide the projector closer or further from the screen to see the sizes available. You may also enter in a certain screen size or distance and it will show you the specs. For your size the distance from the screen to projector can be from 10'9" up to 23'.

Hello, my name is Syd and I am with Epson America
The projector itself can handle a very wide variety of screen sizes. For optimal size and distance, considerations to room environment, light sources, room size/shape and other issues would need to be factored in. There is likely a screen size that is ideal in one room and provide very poor performance in another room.
If you have this projector already, please contact Epson support on the private line card or sticker on the projector itself. They can assist when you give them more info on the room.

Q:
Im using this projector at a place where there are frequent blackouts. So I would like to connect the projector to a UPS, so that there is sufficient time for me to allow the projector to shutdown properly. I would like to know if a 10ms transfer time in the UPS is good enough to ensure that the lamp doesnt get shutdown abruptly when there is a blackout. If 10ms is too 'long', then what is the ideal transfer time that I should be looking at to ensure that the projector operates continuously without any breaks?

Hello, my name is Syd and I am with Epson America
While we do not have a standard rating for UPS transfer time, the time you have given should work. The more important issue with frequent blackouts would be voltage surges and low voltage. This can cause serious damage to electrical devices and the projector should be isolated for these types of spikes as much as possible.

With 2000 lumens, daylight or a lit room would not be recommended. For this type of environment you would want much higher lumens from the projector. We do offer business line projectors with the required lumens, however you would lose out on the rich contrast that our Home cinema line has to offer.
