The scanner comes with holders for 4 strips of 6 frames each of 35mm. My negatives are cut individually, so I can only scan 4 negs at a time. It also has a holder for 2 strips of 4? frames of 120. Again, I scan 2 negs at a time. Another included holder will hold 2 - 4x5 negs and another will hold 1 8x10. On any of these holders, you scan scan as few as 1 neg or slide. I don't use slides so I don't remember how many 35mm slides the holder is capable of holding - probably 20. The scanner is intelligent enough to know how many negs or slides are being scanned, so it's not wasting time scanning if there's nothing there.

You may scan as many photo's that will fit on the glass. Please leave a 1/4" to 1/2" between each photo or the scanner may not know they are seperate images.

I just purchased this scanner about 2 weeks ago. It and the accompanying Adobe Photoshop software that comes with it are exellent. I am very unhappy with the Silverfast software. Both the scanner and Photoshop are easy to learn, yet extremely capable.
