How does this product compare with mini-projectors?

Q:

Our non-profit organization holds dinner meetings with guest speakers, typically with 50-150 folks in attendance at a hotel or country club. In the past, we have borrowed or rented projectors for our speakers' presentations (multi-media, PowerPoint, etc.), but have decided to purchase our own projector as a long-term investment. We had decided to purchase a mini-projector as the portability advantages and lower cost were deemed to be very useful; however, the one we had chosen, while rated very high, is only rated at 110 lumens. The Epson full-size projectors are all rated @ greater than 2,000 lumens. Do mini-projectors have the capability to project images on a screen large enough for the kind of presentation I mentioned? Does Epson make mini-projectors?

For this type of environment in which a lighted room that is large enough for 150people. You would not be happy with a low lumen projector. Even at 2000 lumens, this size of room would need to be very dim. Something with 4k lumens would be recommneded. With this lumens, the room can be very well lit. You may want to consider the PowerLite 1940 or 1945W (depending on your aspect ratio). For cost saving, you may want to check out our discontinued or refurbished models at our clearence section. All of these models offer a full warranty the same as our new line. With a projector, its best to get the right specs you need rather than buy an inferior model and not be happy with the results.

In PowerPoint, the slides would need to be saved as JPG's on the flash drive. You may then use the flash drive only to the projector and view them. If they are saved as PowerPoint Files (*.ppt), Power Point would need to be installed on each projector for them to run. This is why the JPG files are used.

While this model does have one mini stereo audio out for speakers, we always recommend running sound directly from your source to your sound system bypassing the projector completely. Adding multiple connectors such as a projector or other devices will only add noise or other unwanted signals to your sound.

Can I project images from my Android Smartphone from this projector?

As we do have an Android app, you would want to check with your smartphone documentation to see if the app will work with you phone, and if your phone has the capability to send video to a device such as a projector. There may limitations with phone model and type, also limitations per your phone provider on what apps may be installed.

Yes, you may use USB, or if you are currently using a monitor, simply replace the monitor with the projector. For USB, you would want to verify the OS on your computer is compatible.
