V600 Photo Scanner Comments
I have been using my scanner for about a month and totally enjoy it. It produces the excellent results that it has stated in brochures.
I would recommend this unit to anyone that wants to transfer slides or negatives into digital pictures.

Excellent Quality
I do a job every year that requires scanning hundreds of old photos and clippings. I don't know how its speed compares to others on the market today, but this scanner is 3-4 times faster than my old one, and the color is excellent. It saved me a lot of hours. I'm looking forward to trying the film scanning features.

EpsonV600 scanner
My mother-in-law had old negatives from the 20s and 30s that she wanted in black and white and scanning them was easy and the quaility was great.

Great scanner
My wife wanted to scan old photos and negatives. Purchased the V600 and it's fantastic! Photography is a hobby of mine and I'm very pleased with the output from very old negative film, the speed, and flexibility of the scanning software. A great value

Excellent
I love this scanner. It has produced great scanned images of some old photographs, which was the whole purpose of my purchasing it but I am going to enjoy using the other features, scanning negatives and slides. Very pleased with my purchase.

Fantastic Scanner
I bought this scanner specifically for slides and photos. Some of the photos are b&w and are almost a century old. The Epson Perfection V600 is extremely fast when copying photos ( e.g. 4x6 in less than a minute.) I am running an I-7 3930k Intel processor with 32gb ram.I use a new sweat sock to gently dust off the photo before I scan it. This saves a lot of problems and time when touching up the finished product. When scanning photos, I use full auto mode and then touch up any blemishes with adobe 64bit photoshop. When scanning slides, I use professional mode and check the unsharp mask, grain reduction, color restoration and backlight correction. I also set the target size to 4x6. When viewing the finished product on a 55in led tv, the picture takes up almost the whole screen.pros- I am impressed by the speed of the V600. A 4x6 photo scans in less than a minute. 4 slides scan in under 2 minutes. Unlike what other reviewers have said about the flimsy slide holder, (connected at one point), I think it's fine. After scanning 4 slides, by experience, you should lift off the holder and clean the glass. The slides have cardboard borders. You'd be surprised how much fuzz comes off them. cons- Like other reviewers, I did find debris stuck on the underside of the glass. In my case, the location was in two places at the top of the scanner. You can deal with that situation in three ways, scan the photo in the debris area and touch up the photo, scan in an area that doesn't have the debris (my choice), or simply return the scanner. Sometimes the photo result is not right, upside down or sideways. I double click to view the photo and rotate it to the proper perspective with the turn buttons on windows photo viewer.

Have only had a this scanner a little over a week but have done a lot of photos on it in a short time and very happy with it. Easy set up.

Slides
Installing the software was a breeze. Scanning four slides at once takes about four minutes, not bad. I have scanned 160 slides over a couple of afternoons. The scan results were outstanding. I found scaning slides using the scan insted of Adobe was faster. I have not scanned anything other than slides so far. Would have given 5 stars if a op manual were supplied.

Epson Perfection V600 Photo Scanner
This is my first purchase of a scanner specifically for photos and I wanted to get one that would also do 35mm slides. I researched scanners online and decided on this one and I'm glad I did. It does an excellent job of scanning multiple photos at one time and up to 4 slides at one time. The quality is outstanding and I love the software that comes with it.
