PowerLite Home Cinema 5020UB 3D 1080p 3LCD Projector
Awesome 3D projector, one small suggestion
Fantastic projector, awesome color. Did a head-to-head of a DLP projector which was rated at twice the lumens and Epson beat it, hands down, in color saturation and color fidelity.
My only suggestion is that they put an 'AUDIO OUT' connector on the back of the projector. Many Blu-ray players don't have an audio out any more, just HDMI (which includes audio), and maybe a digital audio out. But having an analog (stereo plug or RCA) audio out from the HDMI input would allow extra speakers to be connected.

Worth every penny
Outstanding picture. This is my first projector. I have all hi def LEDs in my house and the only difference between them and the 5020ub is the size of the picture.

This Thing Rocks
This is my first projector so I did some massive research before pulling the trigger. I wanted to have great 3D capabilities and awesome sports viewing and I haven't been disappointed in the least. Family and friends are all blown away by the size and quality of the picture and the detail it creates. I've had the projector calibrated and the Blu-ray picture is so beautiful and then when watching in 3D it's so life-like it blows my mind.

The contrast ratio is awesome, produces very clear video. The 2d to 3d feature is also impressive. Another highlight is the brightness level...makes viewing easy on the eyes. Setup is fairly easy too, very intuitive. I'm using the projector on a 188" diagonal screen & the image is still nice and clear. The one shortcoming is the 3d glasses....they are too narrow & too small overall...makes viewing like watching a ballgame through a knothole in a fence...the frames interfere with the viewing experience.

Considering Your First Projector?
Like me, you may be considering your first projector. I had an idea of how much I wanted to spend, but knew nothing about projectors and was hesitant to even buy one as a result. After much research and increasing my budget I stepped up to the 5020. One of the reasons was because of the automatic lens shift; that is, the ability to essentially plug it in and within a few turns of a knob your screen is centered regardless where the projector is in relationship to the screen. Addiitonally, I purchased this beause of the video quality, overall performance, warranty offered by Epson, and the long shelf life and low cost of the lamp.

I would consider the 5020UB a successor to the popular Epson 8350.
Think of an 8350 with deeper blacks + 3D.

Excellent Home Theater Projector
Excellent picture right out of the box - no adjustments needed. Quiet operation in eco mode. Automatic lens cover. HDMI control works great with my Yamaha receiver and Oppo Blu-ray player. 3D is amazing! Glasses stay charged long enough for multiple viewings. Uses industry standards 3D so other brands of glasses work as well as Epson's. Uses RF instead of IR to sync with the glasses. Bright. Vivid colors. Lens shift. Only con is that the lens shift can be a bit sensitive when making fine-tuned adjustments - but a minor gripe overall. Backlit remote control. Highly recommended.

Awesome Picture Quality
The picture quality from this projector is amazing. My wife and I cannot stop using it to watch TV, although is was meant for movie and sport viewing only. Extremely easy to setup right out of the box. Highly recommend.

Had mine for little less than a year and it has been trouble free. The images are great, and "full size" sports players are nice

Great 3D Projector
I purchased this projector for a dedicated Home Theater room, its also my first projector. I have it ceiling mounted approximately 12' from a fixed frame 96" screen. It was easy to install and adjust image size and keystone. The picture is bright and sharp, and the 3D is excellent. I have 2 3D flat screen TV's one is plasma, and one is LED, but I prefer watching 3D on this projector, the 3D depth seems better. I mainly use the THX mode for both 2D and 3D, and it looks great in that mode. I am very satisfied with this purchase.
