Workforce 845
I operate a small home business. Easy hookup. Software installation takes a bit of time, but it is a matter of just waiting for everything to complete.Works flawlessly as a network printer using the RJ45 connector, linked to several other computers.
Nice big total 500 sheet paper trays that are configurable to allow for different papers each tray. The trays fed nicely with two-sided gloss 50 lb paper, as well as, the lighter regular paper.
Touchscreen works beautifully without any hard presses. Menu on screen is common sense, easy to understand by anyone without reading a manual. Much easier to use than even its predecessor WF 600, which was not user friendly when using the menu.
It's tall, but the actual footprint on the desk is not dissimilar from most printers. Scanner does a great fast job.
Prints on the machine are great once you set up the preferences for the print, and there are many possibilities. However, Normal print on regular paper is disappointing with any photo or graphics, which is dull, and in my case, has a visible pixel line every inch. This is the case even after doing a lengthy alignment, and with a good nozzle check. This only appears in the Normal setting... disappointing. It is not that fast compared to the WF 600 that I just junked, in any print setting... disappointing, but not a deal breaker.
Comes with 127 oversize cartridges, which is good and will last a couple of weeks until I can order some more.
I have not tried the Fax. I can print emails without being connected to the computer, apparently. I have not tried it, yet, or found a reason, yet, for this feature, in my business.

This printer is fast does its job well easy to install and the wifi works real good. One thing I have not been able to solve is how to increase the sound to a level that I can hear when I am sending a fax. I have not try the photo feature. Other than that I'm satisfied with this printer so far.

Multiple issues....
First off is paper handling, regardless of settings and paper used, the feeder continuously grabs multiple sheets and feeds them resulting in unusable documents and prints. Have also had issues if photo tray was loaded as well as letter tray, it will randomly grab from the photo tray. If you run out of one color ink you can no longer print even if it is the magenta ink and you are trying to print only in black and white. After only 5 months the cd tray icon lit up and you are no longer able to print. I have never used this function. The only solution seems to be to wipe out the drivers and completely uninstall and then reinstall. This now happens on a regular basis. It is a known problema nd yet they have not come up with any updates or solutions.

Absolute not worth the purchase at any price!
purchased item 90 days ago and have already recieved a replacement. This unit won't fax more than 2 pages at a time. Don't try 8 pages you'll just fax 4-5 more times. I think epson works with the phone companies to keep them in business.
Stalpes won't take the product back...Epson can't fix the problem.
DO NOT BUY EPSON!!!!

Best printer I've owned
I love this printer. EPSON really did think of everything when they released this product, including useful features like AirPrint, Google Cloud Print, and standard WiFi. It has jammed ONCE since I've owned the product, and that was because I loaded the tray with too much paper. The two paper trays have high capacity, and the second tray takes legal paper. The built in duplexer is efficient and very good and has saved me reams of paper.
By far my favorite thing about EPSON is how quickly they update their drivers when a new Mac or Windows OS is released. You never have to wait to upgrade because your printer will be ready.
Good job, EPSON. Definitely the best printer I've ever owned.

Amazing buy
I purchased this unit from the Epson website in July '12 and I have yet to change the supplied XL cartridges with almost daily printing of some kind or other including maps, photos, webpages, menus, recipes, etc. The graphic still shows slightly under 25% for Black, Cyan and Magenta and the Yellow is right around 40%. Overall performance including Networking has been stellar once the right printer default for the unit was properly selected on our netbook. For some reason the netbook wants the standard Workforce 845 listing and the desktop wants the 845 network listing. Go figure. Also, when using the LCD, sometimes the touchscreen is a little fussy and requires some hard presses. But other than that not much of anything to complain about. I have to say, this product is one of the best computer related buys I've made in a quite while. Just got through ordering a new set of XLs but still don't anticipate installing them for a good bit yet. Performance-wise, scans, copies and prints are all excellent but the old Epson Perfection 610 flatbed scanner still outperforms the new machine with scans, at least in color match. Epson never wrote a driver for the 610 with Vista OS but I finally found a superb non-OEM one called VueScan on the web. Works brilliantly and I'm so glad to have my Flatbed back in business. Still use the 845 scanner for most things though, reserving the 610 for more critical performance. Thanks to Epson for making such a superb product.

Awesome Printer
I am very pleased with my recent purchase. A couple of weeks ago I purchased the Epson XP300
and it just wasn't fast enough. Going with a refurbished Workforce 845 was a very good choice as I have a lot more machine for about $40 more dollars that the XP300. Thanks so much!

Best Printer Ever!!
We have owned the WorkForce 845 for over a year and it is, BY FAR, the best printer we've ever used! My husband and I are both self-employed, and we put this printer through boot camp on a regular basis. We use the XL cartridges and they last a long time. They are reasonably priced, and go a long way. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who has a high level of printing projects, i.e. presentations, spreadsheets, etc. It's working out very well for us!
