Have been using it pretty heavily for a few days. Its fast, and relatively jam free. Had some jam issues with thinner than normal paper. Only one double feed so far, and it was a document in less than perfect condition due to wrinkles.
The write-up at Office Depot implied this unit is capable of direct connection to my home LAN network. Was a bit disappointed to discover this is only possible with an "Optional Adapter" Not too happy about that.
So I'm running on a USB connection. WiFi setup was confusing and hard to implement, and I'm a retired service engineer with 40+ years of electronics and computer experience. That was with the CD software that shipped with the unit. Just downloaded and installed a newer version from the Epson site. Will revisit the WiFi setup and see if it got any easier.

This unit works well and I'm satisfied with its performance. Some improvements I would like to see are:
1. The ability to copy drivers licenses and other thick rigid plastic cards.
2. Faster save time
3. Compression to save multiple images on a single 8x10 image format without the use of a carrier sheet

Rated 3 out of 5 by Chris A WiFi Issues
I purchased this product for my business to scan receipts, invoices, bills etc. for efficiency and save paper, and also to scan documents to be returned to my clients.
I spend 3 frustrating hours trying to set up the WiFi following the instructions on the install disc. Each time the program disabled the router which in turn shut off all WiFi connections to other devices, Printers, internet etc. Which meant I had to reset all those devices after each attempt to install the scanner. I was never able to connect this to my computer via WiFi and had to use the hard wire USB connection in order to use this.
Once the USB was connected, the scanner works well and is fast. I also like the 2 sided scan capability, so you don't have to remove the document to scan the 2nd side.

This is the far worst device I ever had. It works for a day without any issues, then suddenly without a reason reports "cannot communicate with scanner". After a few days it works ok again and so forth. I will try to return this product to Best Buy or to gladly crash it in pieces. I lost so much time trying to fix the problem and there is no point of trying anymore.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Bob Sold on Epson Scanners
I have previously owned many scanners other than Epson. I currently have 6 Epson scanners of various levels of capability to support photography from plate to film in full format and 35mm and document archiving. Up to and including requirements for oil immersion scanning of slides and film. The DS-560 was purchased to replace a WorkForce Pro GT-S50 which lost double sided capability due to the massive document load. The DS-560 has worked flawlessly. I have used it for all sizes of documents in single and batch feed. It has integrated well with all my software. If I have a scanning requirement Epson has the solution. There is little doubt that my next scanner will also be an Epson.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Eldin It is a very nice product but the WiFi connection didn't work with me. I advice to buy one without this option as you pay for something Not easy to set it.

This scanner is a God send...mortgage packages are upwards of 100 to 150 pages and this machine scans them in less then 2 minutes. The only improvement I would suggest is to make the sliding paper slide catch/guides be extended by another inch for 14 inch paper.
