I have two of these printers, they do not stay connected, nor does the scan software install properly. Great printers when they work. Useless because they will not stay connected to computer. NO SUPPORT. Support just emails you to go read their library. Only computer people would consider this service.

I own this printer, and I would really love it, but I cannot give it a 5 star due to the following reasons:
Reason 1: Epson designer you need to think about giving it a higher altitude from the automatic paper feeder to the Output ray on the table. Why, because of the low high altitude causes to push away papers/pages from the automatic feeder to the Output tray "receiver" then pushed out to the floor, once a document has been scanned/copied. Epson designers, we need you to fix that, I really hate that fact/issue, because when a put a set of documents where the order is important, I cannot trust the automatic feeder, since it will, eventually, push away pages, and it will make my life not easy to reorder the documents.
The other issue I'm not happy with is that YOU CANNOT DO DOUBLE SIDED SCANS FROM THE TABLE GLASS FUNCTION. (As of today, 4-22-16) it cannot still do double-sided scans from the table glass, using the printer itself to USB device, but from the automatic feeder only.
May you please fix that on one of your firmware updates or driver updates?
Those are the only two reasons, I cannot give it 5 stars.
I hope Epson review this comments and take actions.

I have a epson wp-4540 all in one and i must say it is a great machine to work with for my automotive bussiness i would recomend this printer to anyone

I've owned two of this model, both in my business and at home. When my printers worked, they worked great. It is a very fast printer and the ink lasts a very long time. The problem is that it has a VERY short lifespan.
I've had two of these develop issues of leaking huge quantities of ink.
One WP-4540 started leaking yellow ink at less than 5000 pages, and the other leaks black ink and only has 7000 pages. The one that leaked yellow literally sprayed ink all over the inside of the chassis, but the one that leaks black leaks mostly on the pages that I print which leaves huge, dripping smears all over them.
I wrote the first broken printer off as a fluke, but after reading numerous complaints about this model doing the same thing and having another one break, I've decided to no longer make Epson my first choice of printer.

Just received the printer: it set up OK and appears to work just great. But ...
- there was a small white plastic piece rattling around loose in the second paper cassette. It wasn't broken off anything, just loose. I have NO idea where it came from or if something will crash and burn because it's not in place.
- 3 of the 4 ink cartridges that came with the printer for the starter ink kit did NOT work. Printer setup wouldn't complete with them (Cyan, Yellow, and Magenta.) Good thing I bought extra ink or I'd be sitting here with no functioning printer.
- My opinion ... great product, poor service (quality checking).

Rated 2 out of 5 by Printer disappointed Epson 4540 - trouble trouble
I had to have 2 replacements sent in 2 years - it spewed yellow ink all over the pages, then it printed everything with a strong red overtone. Now, just a year later (after the 2nd replacement in 2014) it is spewing yellow again!
It was printing letters, etc. fine, and photos were great until "the troubles" started - all three have now had the same type issues. I will not try again and recommend against this printer. Sorry Epson.

I have had this printer for several years now and have to say that I absolutely love it. Recently, the yellow ink started running all over everything. I finally got that stopped and cleaned up and now it doesn't print yellow at all. Seems from other reviews that this is a common problem. I know my warranty is out so I guess I'll have to buy another printer. If I can find another brand with two paper trays, I will purchase. Not sure I want to buy another one of these. My luck it will do the same thing.

had for couple of years know. no issues does what they say. I've had a lot of different printers, this is the best I've ever owned by far.
