Epson Artisan 1430 Inkjet Printer
Replacement for Photostylus 1400
When I learned that the Artisan 1430 was the replacement for the Stylus 1400, I was disappointed. I have had two 1400's and loved them! The Artisan was less expensive...how could it be as good? We'll...it certainly is as good, and better in some ways. It is not as stylish as the 1400 (the Artisan is more 'boxy'). The Artisan puts out photos as good as, better perhaps, and does it more quietly than the 1400. I think it is a tad faster than the 1400. The installation/set-up was mostly easy. It produced a brilliant color print the first time I used it! I am very happy!

Artisan 1430 BLACKMAX
I use this printer for the screen printing portion of my business and it produces amazing detail. Prints in DPI (of course), but it is extremely precise. Very high recommendation to those in and out of my industry. COMPATIBLE WITH WINDOWS 8.1!!! BIG PLUS!!

Best Home Printer Ever!
If you are looking for a wide-format, photo-quality printer, you can't go wrong with this one. I had an earlier version for many more years than printers usually last (it was damaged in a move or I would probably still have it) and just recently got this one. Love the print quality! Also, customer service has always been outstanding.

Simply Life Saving
I was looking for a printer that was not super expensive and can handle screen printing film outputs in all forms, as well as great color images and this was it. I purchased a refurbished one from Epson.com and it has yet to fail me once. Super easy install for wireless printing, which I thought would be hard. I love this printer!

I have worked with epson printers for about 15 years now. By far the best printer I used was the epson 1400. The epson 1430 should have been put in the junk pile. I print ten pages and it says it's out of ink

Printer good, installation directions awful
This printer makes beautiful photo prints. The "Best Photo" option is very slow, but I will use it on special enlargements. This printer is a replacement for my wonderful series 1400 printer, which I used for 5 years and literally wore out. I was looking forward to installing this as a wireless printer but after 3 days I gave up. The printed directions and those on the install CD appear to be in complete conflict and the computer cannot find the printer. After talking with someone else who tried to install her wireless Epson Workforce series printer for three weeks I decided not to waste my time. If you really need a wireless printer, I hope you have technical prowess.

So tired of the greed
Epson has removed the ability to reset your waste ink counter when it deems that your ink pads are full. In the previous 1400s, 1800 and 1900 I owned, this was a free utility provided by epson. Now, if you're not at least moderately tech savvy and/or extremely resourceful, there is no way to reset the counter without professional epson service. In addition to the overpriced ink, clogging nozzles that wastes the expensive ink during cleaning, and now not being able to reset your own waste ink counter, I see this as another gouge in the pocketbooks of Epson's loyal customers. I was fortunate enough to figure a way around this, and I will continue to use my printer that is barely a year old by installing an external waste ink tank, but I know that a great many others won't be quite as fortunate... To all of you loyal epson users and DIYers! Beware of the dreaded "A printers ink pad is at the end of it's service life" error message
