Rated 4 out of 5 by eranha best priced high-contrast projector
The 1080 resolution is excellent, but the 50k:1 contrast is what makes the image so beautiful (in a dark room.) Other projectors with this level of contrast cost double. The epson 5025 has even better contrast, but also costs double. The epson 2030 is only about 20% cheaper, and with 15K:1 contrast, does not have an image that is as satisfying. Also like the lens shift, can have projector to the side, not right in the middle of the sofa where you might bump it. Wish it was small like the 2030, and had the built in sound, but best deal out there for an image that is as good as a flat screen, and much bigger.

Rated 5 out of 5 by VA Patriot WOW...What A Great Home Theater Product !!!
I thought this Epson 8350 Projector was excellent before; but I thought I would have a close friend who is a media professional calibrate it for optimum performance, WOWWWW!!! Unbelievable !!!
It the most defined, realistic picture I've ever seen in a home theater/media setting !!! Superb !!
The depth of field and detail make the view appear as if you can reach out and touch the picture subject and scenery!!
Thanks for engineering such a wonderful product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Taz Great picture for the price
People are in awe when they see the screen size and quality of the picture. It gives you that true Home Theater feel. All for the price of a medium sized big screen TV. Bigger screen size than you could ever imagine.

Rated 2 out of 5 by mg Beware of bulb burnout! - PowerLite Home Cinema 83
This is a great projector. However, I have had it about 1 year and am already on my third lamp bulb! The bulbs are expensive and seem to burn out quickly. We use the project around ~25 hours / week so it is not due to excessive use.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Bevrocktagon Keystone & Bulb Life
For the price this projector is great. I just wanted to add a couple words of advice to users who experience short bulb life and have had difficulties with keystone.
1. Bulb life - ceiling mounted projectors will need air circulation. We all know that hot air rises and that air near the ceiling can be as much as 10 degrees warmer than the rest of the room. In these conditions the internal fan alone will not suffice. Consider mounting the projector lower or installing a ceiling fan. Keeping your bulb cool is ESSENTIAL to bulb life. Never ever ever turn your projector off by using the power switch. Always use the remote or power button. Check filter often if you live in the desert.
2. Keystone - this feature is great for portable projectors, but when installing in your home it is better not to use this function as it distorts your image. Hence it is not included in this unit. Always mount ceiling projectors upside down and as close to the top edge of your screen as possible. Ceiling mounted projectors right side up will not work! Vice versa for a floor set-up. Then use the lens feature to make the final adjustments.
For ceiling mounted - align the top of the image with the top of the screen before adjusting the zoom. Vice versa for floor set-up.
Lower your ceiling mount if necessary - just don't watch tv with a distorted image on such a nice projector it breaks my heart!! Worst comes to worst buy me a plane ticket and I'll come help you set up your system. I love vacations and you'll be happy you did.
One more note - when installing your ceiling mount make sure (this is absolutely necessary) to account for the lens being offset from the center of the unit. These 4-5 inches do matter and you will be pulling your hair out when you have to re-install the mount to get your image right. Again, the lens adjustment is very helpful for fine tuning.
Last note (I promise) - these things are going for half the list price in Ebay. Good luck shoppers!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Steve Mostly Satisfied
We have the 8350 projector ceiling mounted in a theater room. Distance to 110 inch screen is about 9 feet. We have used the projector for a about a year and a half now. The image is bright, even with some window shades open. Remote is easy to use, and intuitive. Adjusting the lens for screen size and focus is very straightforward, and it seems to hold focus without the need for adjustments. Family who use remote seem to figure out functions easily. My only critique would be that on HDMI setting the aspect ratio cannot be changed. I am not sure why this is, but it limits our ability to shift formats. On rare occasion we receive an error message when turning on the projector. But this is resolved by unplugging and restarting the projector. This happens maybe 10% of the time. On whole I am satisfied with the 8350 and believe it is a good value.

This 8350 is an excellent product. Finding a lamp that burns out due to time used is another question.

Rated 5 out of 5 by BAMA42 My first home theater experience
Having seen my son's "man cave" with a video projector/screen, I wanted one to watch sporting events and movies. After on line reviews and recommendation from the BestBuy "Geek", I purchased the PowerLite 8350 Home Theater Projector. The installation instructions were sufficient for me, a non-geek", to install and set up. I could not be happier with the picture quality, particularly HD. There are sufficient features to "fine tune" all aspects of the video image. I invited my best friend over to see it and he was blown away. One can't go wrong with this product for a home theater.
