1. ELIGIBILITY
At the time of entry, you must be (1) a legal resident of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia or Canada (excluding Quebec); (2) have reached the age of majority in your state or province of residence; and (3) a student member of the IEEE Computer Society enrolled either full-time or part-time in an accredited community college, college, or university in the 50 United States, the District of Columbia or Canada, excluding Quebec. Employees of Epson America, Inc. ("Sponsor"), Epson Canada Ltd., the IEEE Computer Society ("IEEE"), and Sponsor's and IEEE's respective parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, and advertising and promotion agencies, and their immediate family members (spouse, parent, child and sibling and their respective spouses, regardless of where they reside) and/or those living in same household of each, whether or not related, are not eligible to participate or win. Void in Quebec, outside of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia and Canada, and where prohibited. Sponsor reserves the right to verify all eligibility requirements. All applicable federal, state, provincial, and local laws and regulations apply.
2. HOW TO PARTICIPATE:
To enter, an entrant must: 1) submit an entry at www.epson.com/ieeecontest by completing all required fields and attaching an essay of between 100 and 1,000 words (the "Essay") or 2) submit an entry at www.epson.com/ieeecontest by completing all required fields and posting a reply video in the comments section of the Moverio Channel on Your Tube @Youtube.com/Moverio (the "Video"). The Essay or Video submissions must describe how the Epson Moverio head-mount display glasses can be used in creative ways based on Judging Criteria as defined below in paragraph 6 ("Theme"). All entry information and Essays or Videos shall be referred to herein each as a "Submission" and collectively as the "Submissions." Limit one Submission per IEEE Computer Society student member. If a Video is submitted, an Essay submitted by the same entrant will be disregarded and only the Video will be entered in this Contest.
To submit a Video via YouTube, entrant must be a registered user of the YouTube site. To become a registered user of the YouTube site, entrant must register for an account and agree to the YouTube Site's "Terms of Use" set forth at http://www.youtube.com/t/terms ("Terms of Use"). There is no fee or charge to become a registered user.
Sponsor reserves the right to cancel or modify this Contest in the event an insufficient number of entries are received that meet the minimum Judging Criteria set forth below in Paragraph 6.
All entrants must have a valid email address. No automated entry devices and/or programs permitted. All entries, including Submissions, become the sole and exclusive property of the Sponsor and receipt of entries will not be acknowledged or returned. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, illegible, stolen, incomplete, invalid, unintelligible, misdirected, technically corrupted or garbled entries, which will be disqualified, or for problems of any kind whether mechanical, human or electronic. Only fully completed entry forms are eligible. Proof of submission will not be deemed to be proof of receipt by Sponsor.
3. START/END DATES
Contest begins at 8:00:00 AM Eastern Time on January 1, 2013 and ends at 11:59:59 PM Eastern Time on April 30, 2013.
4. SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
By entering, each entrant agrees that his or her Submission conforms to the Theme and Submission Guidelines as defined below and that Sponsor, in its sole discretion, may remove any Submission and disqualify an entrant from the Contest without notice if it believes that the entrant's Submission fails to conform to the Submission Guidelines.
Format:
Entrant must have obtained express written consent to submit any entry that contains the image, voice and/or personal information of persons other than entrant or third-party elements not owned by entrant and, if requested to do so, produce such written consent from appropriate parties in a form and manner acceptable to Sponsor.
Each entrant acknowledges that other entrants may have used ideas and/or concepts in their Submission that may be similar in idea or concept to what is included in entrant's Submission. Each entrant understands and agrees that he/she shall not have any claim against any other entrant, the IEEE, or Sponsor arising out any such similarity or be entitled to any compensation because of any such similarity.
Entrant must not include any confidential, proprietary, competitive or trade secret information that he/she wishes to keep confidential in the Submission. The Submission contents will not be kept confidential even if designated as such in the Submission. Sponsor's decisions are final and binding in all matters relating to this Contest, including, but not limited to, interpretation and application of these Official Rules.
5. RIGHTS IN INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
Entering a Submission constitutes entrant's consent to give Sponsor and the IEEE a royalty-free, irrevocable, perpetual, non-exclusive license to use, reproduce, modify, publish, create derivative works from, and display such Submission in whole or in part, on a worldwide basis, and to incorporate it into other works, including, but not limited to, into articles and other editorial content, in any form, media or technology now known or later developed, including but not limited to any and all Internet media, including Sponsor's and IEEE's web sites and properties and on social networking sites (i.e., Facebook, YouTube, Twitter etc.), for any legal purpose whatsoever, without compensation, notification or permission, unless prohibited by law.
6. JUDGING
Potential winners will be determined from among all eligible entries received by a panel of three (3) qualified judges selected by the IEEE. The judges' decision will be made on or about May 31, 2013. Entries will be judged based on the creative expression of how the Epson Moverio head-mount display glasses can be used based on the following equally-weighted judging criteria (Judging Criteria

7. WINNER NOTIFICATION
Potential winners will be notified by telephone, mail and/or e-mail on or about June 3, 2013 and required to execute and return an Affidavit of Eligibility, Liability Release and Rights Transfer document or any other document requested by Sponsor in order to assign all rights, title and interest in the Submission to Sponsor, and, unless prohibited by law, a publicity release, and for US winners a W-9 Form within fourteen (14) days of date of issuance. If any winner cannot be contacted within five (5) calendar days of first notification attempt, if any prize or prize notification is returned as undeliverable, if any winner rejects his/her prize or in the event of noncompliance with these Contest rules and requirements, such prize will be forfeited and may be awarded to the Submission with the next highest score. Upon prize forfeiture, no compensation will be given.
8. PRIZES
One (1) Grand Prize Winner Package: Cash Prize of $8,000 USD and one (1) Moverio BT-100 unit. The Grand Prize winner and the Grand Prize winning Submission may be featured in an issue of IEEE Pervasive Computing
magazine and on Sponsor's and the IEEE's website, in Sponsor and IEEE's sole and absolute discretion. ARV of the Grand Prize Package is $8,699 USD.
Three (3) Honorable Mention Winner Packages: Cash Prize of $2,000 USD and one (1) Moverio BT-100 unit. The Honorable Mention winners and the Honorable Mention Submissions may be featured in an issue of IEEE Pervasive Computing
magazine and on Sponsor's website and the IEEE's website, in Sponsor and IEEE's sole and absolute discretion. ARV of each Honorable Mention Winner Prize Package is $2,699 USD.
GENERAL PRIZE CONDITIONS: All prize details are at the sole discretion of Sponsor. No substitution, cash equivalent or transfer of prizes permitted by winners. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize (or portion thereof) of comparable or greater value, in its sole discretion. All federal, state, provincial and local taxes as well as any costs and expenses not specified herein as being awarded are sole responsibility of each winner. Winners' rights in respect of his/her use of the Moverio BT-100 portion of the Prize shall be governed by the terms of Epson's Limited Warranty, which is enclosed in the box containing the Prize. Limit one (1) Prize per person.
9. CONDITIONS
Acceptance of prize constitutes each winner's permission for Sponsor and IEEE or their respective designees to use his/her name, address (city and state/province), likeness, photograph, picture, portrait, voice, biographical information, and Submission and/or any statements made by each winner regarding the Contest or Sponsor and/or IEEE for advertising and promotional purposes without notice or additional compensation, worldwide in perpetuity and in any form of media including the Internet, except where prohibited by law.
10. MISCELLANEOUS
Released Parties (as defined below) are not responsible for late, lost, garbled, damaged, incomplete, delayed, or misdirected entries or for computer, technical, printing, typographical, human or other errors relating to or in connection with the Contest, including, without limitation, errors which may occur in the administration of the Contest, the processing or judging of entries, the announcement of the prizes or in any Contest-related materials. If for any reason the Contest is not capable of running as planned, including infection by tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this Contest, Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest and, if terminated, at its discretion, determine winners from among all non-suspect, eligible entries received up to time of such action using judging procedure described above. By participating, entrant agrees (i) to be bound by the terms of these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor and judges, which are final and binding in all respects, and (ii) to hold Sponsor, IEEE, YouTube, and their respective parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, prize suppliers and advertising and promotion agencies, and the respective directors, officers, employees and agents of the foregoing (collectively, the "Released Parties"), harmless against any and all claims and liability, for any loss, harm, damage, injury, cost or expense whatsoever including without limitation, property damage, personal injury and/or death which may occur in connection with, preparation for, travel to, or participation in Contest, or possession, acceptance and/or use or misuse of prize or participation in any Contest-related activity and for any claims based on publicity rights, defamation, invasion of privacy, copyright infringement, trademark infringement or any other intellectual property-related cause of action. Sponsor may disqualify (and void all associated entries) anyone from participating in the Contest or winning a prize if, in its sole discretion, it determines that such person is attempting to undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest by cheating, deception or other unfair practices, or intending to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other entrant or Sponsor's representatives or who is otherwise not in compliance with the terms of these rules. ANY ATTEMPT TO DELIBERATELY UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST MAY BE IN VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES AND OTHER REMEDIES (INCLUDING ATTORNEYS' FEES) FROM ANY SUCH INDIVIDUAL TO THE FULLEST EXTENT OF THE LAW, INCLUDING CRIMINAL PROSECUTION.
11. Limitation of Liability; Disclaimer of Warranties. IN NO EVENT WILL THE RELEASED ENTITIES BE RESPONSIBLE OR LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES OR LOSSES OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF ENTRANT'S ACCESS TO AND USE OF ANY SITE AND/OR ENTRY IN THE CONTEST, DOWNLOADING FROM AND/OR PRINTING MATERIAL DOWNLOADED FROM ANY WEBSITES ASSOCIATED WITH THE CONTEST. WITHOUT LIMITING THE FOREGOING, THIS CONTEST IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OR CONDITION OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. 12. Disputes; Governing Law. The parties waive all rights to trial in any action or proceeding instituted in connection with these Official Rules, including, without limitation, the Contest. Any controversy or claim arising out of or relating to these Official Rules and/or the Contest shall be settled by binding arbitration in accordance with the commercial arbitration rules of the American Arbitration Association. Any such controversy or claim shall be arbitrated on an individual basis, and shall not be consolidated in any arbitration with any claim or controversy of any other party. The arbitration shall be conducted in Los Angeles, California.
THESE OFFICIAL RULES AND THE INTERPRETATION OF ITS TERMS SHALL BE GOVERNED BY AND CONSTRUED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA WITHOUT REGARD TO ITS CONFLICTS OF LAWS RULES. For any matters which are not subject to arbitration as set forth in these Official Rules and/or in connection with the entering of any judgment on an arbitration award in connection with these Official Rules and/or the Contest, the parties irrevocably submit and consent to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the state and federal courts located in or closest to the County of Los Angeles in the State of California. The parties agree not to raise the defense of forum non conveniens.
13. Use of Data. Sponsor will be collecting personal data about entrants online, in accordance with its privacy policy. Please review the Sponsor's privacy policy at www.epson.com/privacy. By participating in the Contest, entrants hereby agree to Sponsor's collection and usage of their personal information and acknowledge that they have read and accepted Sponsor's privacy policy.
