What are the system requirements for using the Artisan with my computer?
A:
See the requirements below for your computer system:

Windows
  • A Microsoft Windows compatible PC with an 800 MHz processor (1 GHz or faster processor recommended)


  • Microsoft Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows XP Professional x64 Edition, or Windows Vista


  • 512MB RAM for Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Windows XP Professional x64 Edition (1GB recommended)


    • 1GB RAM for Windows Vista

  • 600MB or more free hard disk space


  • 4x or faster CD-ROM drive for installing the software


  • A Windows-compliant USB port and shielded USB “AB” cable up to 6.5 feet (2 meters) long (not required for network connections). Using an improperly shielded USB cable may cause the Artisan to malfunction.

Macintosh
  • An Apple Macintosh with a PowerPC or Intel processor


  • Mac OS X 10.3.9, 10.4.11, or 10.5.x


  • 512MB RAM (1GB recommended)


  • 600MB or more free hard disk space


  • 4x or faster CD-ROM drive for installing the software


  • A USB port and a shielded USB “AB” cable up to 6.5 feet (2 meters) long (not required for network connections). Using an improperly shielded USB cable may cause the Artisan to malfunction.
