I installed the WorkForce software for a wireless connection, but I can't print the test page or print from another application. What should I do?
Try the following:Important:
Make sure you know your network’s security settings before you set up your all-in-one on your wireless network (see Network Security Settings
for more information). Epson will not be able to provide this information for you.
If you know your security settings, continue with these steps:
- Reset the Printer’s Network Settings.
- Reset your router. You may be able to do this by turning it off and back on again, or you may need to follow a different procedure to reset it. See the documentation for your router or contact the manufacturer of your router for instructions. Warning: If your router is connected to other devices, you may need to re-establish the device on the network.
- Make sure the printer is turned on and the Ethernet cable is connected correctly (see Connect the Ethernet Cable for instructions).
If the Ethernet cable was connected correctly, try connecting the Ethernet cable to another port on the router and/or try another Ethernet cable.
- Set up the WorkForce for a wireless connection. See Using the Control Panel for Wireless Network Installation.
If the steps above do not help, check the additional troubleshooting tips below, then try steps 1 through 4 again.
- If your wireless router or access point is set to not broadcast its Network name (SSID), you’ll need to enter the SSID manually in the printer’s setup software. If your wireless router or access point has wireless security enabled, you’ll also need to know what kind of security it is using. Epson will not be able to provide this information to you. If your don’t know this information, you’ll need to contact the manufacturer of your router or the person who set up your network.
- Make sure the WorkForce is within range of the wireless router or wireless access point.
- Avoid placing the printer near a microwave oven, 2.4 GHz cordless phone, or large metal objects such as a filing cabinet.
- Try connecting to the wireless router or access point with your computer or another device to confirm that it is working correctly.
- If there are any access restrictions (such as MAC address filtering) set on the wireless router or access point, register the printer’s MAC address on the router or access point. Print a Network Status Sheet to obtain the MAC address. Then see your router or access point’s documentation for instructions.
- Disable any settings (such as AP Isolation, Client Isolation, or Privacy Separator) on your wireless router or access point that would prevent wireless devices from communicating with each other.
