Epson Stylus Photo R1800 Ink Jet Printer

When an ink cartridge is installed in the printer, the printer charges the ink system. This takes about two and a half minutes. While the ink is charging the green  power light flashes. Never turn off the printer while the green  power light is flashing (unless the printer hasn’t moved or made noise for more than 5 minutes). This initialization is a normal and necessary process. If the printer initialization does not stop after 5 minutes, turn off the printer and contact Epson technical support for assistance.
