Q:
How do I install the ZIP drive on my Windows 95 computer and not have it change my CD-ROM drive letters?
A:
For Windows 95, open My Computer and double-click on the floppy drive icon. Double-click on Setup95 to begin installation. After installation is complete, you will need to change the drive letter assignment for the ZIP drive in the Device Manager. Click on Start, select Settings, select Control Panel, choose System, select the tab for Device Manager. Open the Disk drives icon, select the ZIP drive, click on Properties, click on Settings and change the Start and End drive letter assignment to a drive letter that is at least one drive higher than the CD-ROM drive letter desired. Select OK and close the Properties window. Click OK again to close the Device Manager, then select Yes to restart the computer. After the system has restarted, verify that the correct drive letter has been assigned.
