Is there any sort of protection built into the AP-60 circuitry to prevent excessive sound from damaging the speakers? |

Yes. Compression or limiting circuit is built into the DSP which prevents sudden loud sounds from damaging the speakers. Plus, the speakers in the AP-60 are designed to handle the full load of the amplifier. |
