Epson Stylus Pro 7600 Print Engine with UltraChrome™ Ink

Selected FAQ

Q:
Why are my ink cartridges nearly empty after I turn on the printer for the first time?
A:
The printer generally uses the first set of ink cartridges to do what is called "priming". Priming evacuates all air from the ink lines and pressurizes the ink delivery system for it's first use. It also saturates the new print heads and fills the ink reservoirs to their maximum levels. This helps ensure consistent looking images from your printer. Since priming requires more ink then normal, the ink levels on your cartridge indicators appear prematurely empty, since the ink has been transferred from the cartridges to the ink lines. Your next set of cartridges should yield ink at the normal rate.
