Epson Stylus Color 800 Ink Jet Printer

Selected FAQ

Q:
When I try to print in Windows 95 or 98, the message "The printer is out of paper" or "The printer is off-line" appears in the Despooler. What do I do?
A:
Examine the printer's control panel to make sure the printer does not show a paper out error. Try printing the directory from DOS. Type "dir.>prn" from the DOS prompt. If this does not print, make sure the printer cable is securely connected. A defective cable can also cause this problem. Make sure you are using a fully-shielded parallel cable, preferably 6 feet or less. If the DOS test printed, open the EPSON Spool Manager, open the Queue, select Setup and change the setting (check or uncheck the box) for "Use Print Manager for this port". Close the Spool Manager, restart the computer and try printing again. In Windows 95 Spool enable the setting "Print directly to the printer" and disable any options in the Port settings. If there is still an error, please contact the EPSON Connection for assistance.
