Epson Stylus Photo Ink Jet Printer

Selected FAQ

Q:
Why doesn't the Stylus Photo have 1440 dpi resolution?
A:
The key reason has to do with processing and printing speed. By increasing the number of colors from four to six, the amount of data stored is increased significantly. Going from 720 x 720 dpi to 1440 x 720 dpi also increase the amount of data significantly. If both methods are used, the amount of data increases even more, making the image processing time very long. Offering both 6-color output and 1440 dpi would have resulted in slower print speeds.
