Q:
My printer's vertical alignment is off. What should I do?
A:
Follow the instructions listed below to calibrate the printer.

The printer must be connected to the computer's LPT1 parallel port to use the calibration program. Make sure it is not connected to LPT2 before proceeding.

Occasionally when the stylus IIs is calibrated, it is sometimes necessary to reset the printer's defaults in order to re-establish communication between the computer and printer. In order to reset your printer, please follow the instructions below:

1. Turn off the printer
2. Hold down the ALT and PAUSE buttons on the printer and turn it back on
3. After 5 to 7 seconds release the buttons
4. Hold down the LOAD/EJECT button until Pause and Economy lights begin to flash
5. Once they flash release the button and press PAUSE once and release it
6. Once the printer initializes and it stops, turn it off and back on again
7. Perform 5 to 6 cleaning cycles on the cartridge

If a test print still shows misalignment in the vertical lines, try running the calibration again. Please check the driver version you are using and follow the appropriate instructions as outlined below:

IF THE DRIVER VERSION IS 2.1AE, GO TO A
IF THE DRIVER VERSION IS ANYTHING OTHER THAN 2.1AE, GO TO B
