Q:
Why won't my system recognize the USB port (Windows 98/2000/ME only)?
A:
The USB interface is not supported by Windows 95 (including OSR-2.x) or Windows NT, you must have Windows ME, Windows 2000 or Windows 98 preinstalled full edition. The scanner must be connected to a built-in (root) hub or first tier hub only. If the scanner is attached to a built-in root hub and the scanner isn't recognized, check the computer's user manual to see if the USB port needs to be enabled in the computer's setup. If the scanner is attached to a first tier hub, that hub must be self-powered (i.e.: an AC adapter should be attached). Be sure to use the USB cable that came with your scanner. Turn off both the scanner and your computer. Then turn on your scanner before you turn on the computer. If you're connected to a USB hub, try connecting the cable to the computer's USB port. Note: Be sure to install the TWAIN driver software first before connecting the scanner to your computer. See the Start Here poster for details.
