How do I remove an old version of TWAIN from my computer? |

Here are the directions to properly remove the older Twain and install the updated version: You need to remove the older Twain driver, files, and changes made to the *.ini files. The newer driver will be installed later on. The steps below will guide you: a. There are four (4) files found in the C:\Windows directory that should be deleted. They are: pmdd.dll, twain.dll, epscan.ini and estwain.ini b. Delete the TWAIN directory and all of it's files. It may be one layer below C:\Windows. c. Delete the EPSCAN II directory and all of it's files. d. Delete the file (epsn.sys) from the root directory. e. Make a copy of the following two files: win.ini, control.ini (both are found in the C:\Windows directory) f. Edit the Win.Ini, delete the section [twain] and [epsndrv] if they are found. For windows NT also delete the section [pmddsetuppath] g. Delete the last line "scanner=c:\windows\twain\pmdd.dll from the [mmcpl] section of the control.ini -- if found. |
