Epson StylusRIP Adobe PostScript Software for Windows and Macintosh

Selected FAQ

How can I improve the performance of Epson StylusRIP?
StylusRIP performance can be improved by increasing the memory allocated to StylusRIP. The minimum amount of memory is 16 MB with a preferred size of 20 or more depending upon file size. Perform all image modifications in an image editing application such as Photoshop. Clean up the pasteboard in your page layout application, delete all unused artwork from the pasteboard. Avoid using a tint of a process color. The RIP must process a percentage of a color that is made with percentages of CMYK. Avoid excessively high resolution images and backgrounds. Many times, the resolution can be reduced without reducing the quality of the output. Switch to serial communications, especially if your StylusRIP Server is a newer PCI based Macintosh or clone. These newer models have high speed serial ports that can achieve a higher throughput than ethernet. This can be done even in a network environment when a System has been setup as the StylusRIP Server and is not used as a graphics workstation. As long as the StylusRIP Server is connected to the network via ethernet and StylusRIP is up and running, workstations that have StylusRIP Client installed will have access to StylusRIP Server through their Chooser. This avoids transmitting files over the network twice, once to the StylusRIP Server and a second time from the Server to the printer.
