How do I print in black/grayscale only?
Follow the steps below for your operating system to select Black/Grayscale in the product driver.

Note: To keep the print head clear and ready to print, the product uses a small amount of ink from all the cartridges whenever it prints. Even if you select Black/Grayscale, some color ink is still being used.

Black/Grayscale is not recommended for printing black-and-white photos.

  1. Open the File menu and select Print.

  2. Click Properties or Preferences, and click the Main tab.

  3. Under Print Options, select Black/Grayscale and click OK.

Note: Black/Grayscale allows you to print in shades of gray.

Mac OS X
