Q:
Can I display on the projection screen and a computer monitor or laptop simultaneously?
A:
See below for the type of equipment you are connecting.

Desktop computer

  • If you're using the projector's USB TypeB port to project your computer's display, you can display on the projection screen and your desktop computer screen simultaneously. See Connecting to the USB Port.


  • If you're using the projector's Computer (Component Video) port to project your computer's display, you can connect an external monitor to the projector to display on the projection screen and a computer screen simultaneously. See Connecting an External Monitor.


Laptop

  • If you're using the projector's USB TypeB port to project your laptop's display, you can display on the projection screen and your laptop simultaneously. See Connecting to the USB Port.


  • If you're using the projector's Computer (Component Video) port to project your laptop's display, your laptop may support the ability to display on the projection screen and your laptop simultaneously. Try the steps below for the type of laptop you are using.

    PC laptop

    1. Hold down the laptop's Fn key and press the key labelled with a monitor icon or CRT/LCD. (See your laptop manual for details.) Wait a few seconds for an image to appear.


    2. To display on both the laptop's monitor and the projector, try pressing the same keys again.


    3. If the same image is not displayed by the laptop and projector, check the Windows Display utility to make sure the external monitor port is enabled. (See your computer or Windows manual for instructions.)


    4. If necessary, check your video card settings and set the multiple display option to Clone.


    Mac laptop

    1. Open the System Preferences utility and select Displays.


    2. Select Detect Displays.


    3. Do one of the following:

      • Mac OS X 10.6: Click Show displays in menu bar.


      • Other Mac OS X versions: Select the VGA Display or Color LCD option, click the Arrange or Arrangement tab, and check the Mirror Displays check box. (See your laptop manual for details.)
