Q:
I'm having trouble creating a searchable PDF file. What should I do?
A:
Try the following:

  • Make sure ABBYY FineReader is installed.


  • If you are scanning a landscape-oriented document on the document table, make sure you place the pages with the bottom edge facing the scanner buttons.


  • If you are scanning a landscape-oriented document in the ADF, make sure you place the pages with the left edge facing into the feeder.


  • If you are scanning a document that has a colored background, use the PDF button or scan in Office Mode. Select Grayscale or Black&White as the Image Type setting, then select the Image Option setting and drop out the background color.


  • The searchable PDF file option is not supported in MAC OS.
