Q:
My Windows 8 system automatically installed an in-box driver (Print Class driver) for my older Epson printer. How do I update the printer driver?
A:
Download and install Windows 7 driver for your product if available.

  1. Go to the main Epson support page, select your product category, then select your product name.
  2. Select Drivers & Downloads, then select Drivers.
  3. Select the available Printer Driver, then select Download Now.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the software.

Important: You may get a Program Compatibility Assistant dialog window when installing the Windows 7 driver on your Windows 8 system.

It is normal for the Program Compatibility Assistant dialog window to appear. Click Run the program without getting help and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

Note: Please check back with Epson support periodically to see if a new Windows 8 driver is available for download.

In-box driver: Drivers included with Windows 8.
