Epson Stylus CX6400 All-in-One Printer

DO NOT INSERT YOUR EPSON ALL-IN-ONE SOFTWARE CD IN YOUR WINDOWS VISTA COMPUTER because the setup program is not compatible with Windows Vista.

You need to download and install both the printer and scanner software for your all-in-one. Follow the steps below to install the printer driver and TWAIN Driver/Epson Scan Utility.

Install TWAIN Driver and EPSON Scan Utility

Note: If you see a window that says User Account Control at any point, click Continue.

1. Turn off the printer and disconnect the USB cable from the printer.



2. Go to the Drivers & Downloads page.



3. Download the TWAIN Driver and EPSON Scan Utility for Windows Vista. Make a note of the file name and save location so you can easily retrieve it.



4. Open the file you downloaded, and follow the on-screen instructions to install the driver software.



5. If you see a Windows Security window, click Install or Install this driver software anyway.
   
   
   
   
6. Click Finish when done.

Install Printer Driver

A printer driver is available for your all-in-one from the Automatic Software Update service built into Windows Vista.

Note: We recommend that you install the TWAIN Driver and Epson Scan Utility as described in the preceding section before installing the printer driver.

1. Reconnect the USB cable to your printer.



2. Turn on your printer. After a moment, you see this screen:





3. Select Locate and install driver software (recommended) to install the printer driver automatically. (You may need to select this option more than once during installation.)
   
   Installation can take a few minutes. Once complete, a message appears in the task bar indicating your device driver software was successfully installed.





4. Close any open windows on your screen.

Note: Depending on your system configuration, the computer may ask for your Windows disk. If this happens, insert your Windows CD into your CD-ROM drive and click OK.
