Try the following if garbage prints: - Turn off the printer and computer. Disconnect and reconnect the printer cable at both ends. If a switch box is being used, remove it and connect the printer directly to the computer with a single cable. Turn the printer and computer back on. If you're still getting garbage, change the cable. We recommend a fully shielded cable, 6 feet or less in length.
- Check to make sure the driver matches the printer emulation mode. You may be using the FX-2190 driver while the printer is set up for Okidata mode.
- Check the character table settings. See Changing the Printer's Default Settings in the User's Guide.
