Q:
Can I select a specific print resolution (dpi) in the driver software?
A:
No. The print resolution is determined by other driver software settings.

In Windows, the Quality Option and paper Type settings determine the print resolution.

In Mac OS X, the resolution settings depend on the Mode setting:

Note:
To access the resolution settings in Mac OS X, select Print from the File menu. Then click Copies & Pages and select Print Settings from the pull-down menu.
  • If you’ve selected Automatic as the Mode setting, the resolution is determined by the Media Type setting and the position of the Quality/Speed slider.

  • If you’ve selected Advanced as the Mode setting, the resolution is determined by the Media Type setting and the Print Quality setting.

In Mac OS 9.x (9.2 or later), the resolution settings depend on the Mode setting:

  • If you’ve selected Automatic as the Mode setting, the resolution is determined by the Media Type setting and the position of the Quality/Speed slider.

  • If you’ve selected Custom as the Mode setting, the resolution is determined by the Media Type setting and the Print Quality setting. The Print Quality setting is located in the advanced driver settings window (to open the advanced driver settings window, click the Advanced button after you select Custom as the Mode setting).
