Q:
What should I do if the image on the screen is too dark or too bright?
A:
Check the following:
Try changing the flash setting. See

for details.
If you are shooting a close-up in macro mode, try using the “flash off” setting. See
Controlling the Flash
for details.
If you are using the flash, make sure you are within range (between 2.3 and 8.5 feet for automatic mode). See

for details.
The exposure maybe set to too dark or bright. Try adjusting the exposure compensation setting. See
Setting Exposure Compensation
for details.
The light sensitivity setting maybe to too low or high. Try adjusting it. See
