Epson StylusRIP Professional 2.0 for the Epson Stylus Photo 2200

The Epson StylusRIP Professional 2.0 can work as a network print server by having the printer shared over the network. Follow the illustration and procedure below.

• Install the PS Server software to the Server Host computer (S1).
• Install the PS Printer driver and PPD to each Client Host computer (C1, C2).
• Connect the Stylus Photo 2200 (P1) to the Server Host computer (S1) via a USB or FireWire cable.




	Note:
	The Server and Client systems must be in the same workgroup and segment to print over the network.

Setting Up the PS Server on Macintosh OS X

1. Connect your printer to the Server Host computer via a USB or FireWire cable with the power on.
2. Insert the Epson StylusRIP Professional CD into the CD drive to install the PS Server software.
3. Enable the Print Sharing service in the Sharing Preferences pane.
4. Locate and Open the EPSON PS Server.
5. Open Print Center or Printer Utility Setup and click Add Printer.
6. Select AppleTalk from the drop-down menu at the top of the Printer List.
7. Click on the PS Server_Stylus Photo 2200.
8. Select the Printer Model from the drop-down menu at the bottom of the Printer List. Be sure to select Epson (initial capital letter only). Do not select EPSON (all capital letters). This selection cannot be used with StylusRIP.
9. Select EPSON Stylus Photo2200 v3015.102 for the model name.
10. In the System Preferences pane, double-click on Print & Fax and enable Share my printers with other computers.

Once you’ve enabled sharing on the print server, each of the client computers need to connect to it. Follow the procedure below.

Setting Up the Clients on Macintosh OS X

1. Open Print Center or Printer Utility Setup and click Add Printer.
2. Select the Shared Printer located from the Server Host computer.




	Note:
	Printers shared using Mac OS X 10.2 through 10.2.8 clients Server Print Service do not automatically appear in the Printer List in Print Center and must be specifically added by the user.

If you experience printing problems using StylusRIP over the network, please check the following:

• The Stylus Photo 2200 must be connected via USB or FireWire cable only. Optional network interface cards are not supported.
• The Server and Client systems must be in the same workgroup and segment to print over the network.
• If a router is used on the network and the job sent from the Client host computer does not print to the printer, remove the router from the network and temporarily install an Ethernet hub. This will avoid any firewall communication problems that may be caused by the router. Reinstall the PS Printer driver and PPD to each Client Host computer. After setup is complete, you can return the router connection back to its network configuration.
