Epson StylusRIP Professional 2.0 for the Epson Stylus Photo 2200

Turn off all virus protection software before you install the Stylus RIP Professional. (See the documentation that came with your virus protection software or computer for instructions.)

Easy Install Method
Use the Easy Install method to install the Stylus RIP Professional on a stand-alone or print-server Macintosh.

1. Insert the EPSON Stylus RIP Professional 2.0 CD into your CD-ROM drive. The EPSON Stylus RIP Professional window automatically appears on your screen.



2. Double-click the Installer_SP2200 icon, then click Continue. You see the following:



Note: The installer automatically saves the Stylus RIP Professional files in the root directory of your hard disk. If you want to select a different location, click the Install Location pop-up menu, then click Select Folder to specify the location.


3. When the Adobe PostScript driver installer starts, click Continue, then follow the on-screen instructions.



4. When the installation is complete, click Restart.



5. Turn on your Stylus Photo 2200 printer.



6. Double-click your hard drive icon, then double-click the EPSON PS Server icon in the EPSON Stylus RIP Professional 2.0 folder.



7. Select your printer in the window that appears, then click OK.



Note: If you plan to share the printer, make sure that AppleTalk is active in the Chooser. Otherwise, Stylus RIP Professional will not be available. If you have multiple AppleTalk zones, select the zone where the printer is located and then select the printer name.


8. When the License key dialog box appears, enter your license key and click OK.


Note: The license key is printed on the CD-ROM case. You only need to enter this key the first time you start PS Server.


9. Open the Chooser, select the AdobePS icon in the left column, select PS Server_Stylus Photo 2200 in the right column, then click OK.



10. Close the Chooser.

Custom Install Method
Use the Custom Install method to install the Stylus RIP Professional on a client computer (a typical workstation connected to the network) or to install the minimum number of files required for the print server. The minimum Stylus RIP Professional print server setup includes only print server software, which means you will not be able to print PostScript documents directly from the host machine that contains your print server.

1. Insert the EPSON Stylus RIP Professional 2.0 CD into your CD-ROM drive. The EPSON Stylus RIP Professional window automatically appears on your screen.



2. Double-click the Installer_SP2200 icon, then click Continue.



3. Click the installation pop-up menu and select Custom Install.




4. Select the item(s) that you want to install, then click Install.


Note: The installer automatically saves the Stylus RIP Professional files on the root level of your hard disk. If you want to change the location where the files are installed, click the Install Location pop-up menu, then click Select Folder to specify the location.


5. Click Quit to complete the installation.
