Turn off all virus protection software before you install the Stylus RIP Professional. (See the documentation that came with your virus protection software or computer for instructions.) Easy Install Method Use the Easy Install method to install the Stylus RIP Professional on a stand-alone or print-server Macintosh.
![]() Note: The installer automatically saves the Stylus RIP Professional files in the root directory of your hard disk. If you want to select a different location, click the Install Location pop-up menu, then click Select Folder to specify the location. ![]() Note: If you plan to share the printer, make sure that AppleTalk is active in the Chooser. Otherwise, Stylus RIP Professional will not be available. If you have multiple AppleTalk zones, select the zone where the printer is located and then select the printer name. Note: The license key is printed on the CD-ROM case. You only need to enter this key the first time you start PS Server. Custom Install Method Use the Custom Install method to install the Stylus RIP Professional on a client computer (a typical workstation connected to the network) or to install the minimum number of files required for the print server. The minimum Stylus RIP Professional print server setup includes only print server software, which means you will not be able to print PostScript documents directly from the host machine that contains your print server.
