The green  Start light will remain on as long as the scanner is plugged in; there is no power button. The green light lets you know the scanner is ready. (Of course, you must also have the scanner driver installed and correctly configured in order to scan.)

Your Perfection 2480 Photo does not need to be turned off, because it has a sleep mode which will turn off the internal lamp. The sleep mode activates when the scanner has been inactive for a period of time.

If you still want to fully power down the scanner, simply unplug it.

	Caution:
	If you unplug the scanner, wait at least 10 seconds before plugging it back in. Rapidly unplugging and plugging in the scanner can damage it.
