Q:
My printer recently started having trouble loading paper. How can I fix this?
A:
You may need to clean the pickup rollers. Follow these steps:

  1. Turn on the printer and remove any loaded paper.


  2. Remove the paper tray so you can see the pickup rollers and roller covers.




    3. Note: The left side pickup roller may be in a different location than shown above, since it moves with the left side paper guide.

  3. Clean the light grey areas beneath the roller covers.




    4. We recommend using cotton swabs dampened with water to clean dust from the rollers. Be sure to allow ample time for the rollers to dry before loading paper.



  4. To clean each roller’s surface completely, they must be rotated. Press the  down arrow button on the printer’s control panel to rotate the rollers; watch for a moment to see how the gears inside the printer are engaged when the rollers are moving. Be careful not to get anything stuck in between the rollers.

    Rotate the rollers a little at a time, cleaning the exposed roller surface between rotations.
