How do I install the Epson PowerPC driver on my Intel-based Mac?
A:
Follow these steps:

  1. Open the Hard Drive.


  2. Select > Applications > Utilities > Printer Setup Utility.


  3. Select Get Info from the File menu.


  4. Check the Open using Rosetta box





  5. Close the window.


  6. Connect the interface cable to your printer.


  7. Turn on your printer.


  8. Install the PowerPC driver for your printer.

    • If you’re installing a downloaded driver, open the file you downloaded and follow the on-screen instructions.


    • If you’re installing the driver from the Epson CD, insert the CD in your computer and follow the on-screen instructions.

  9. After the driver has been installed, open the Hard Drive.


  10. Select > Applications > Utilities > Printer Setup Utility.


  11. Select your printer from the Printer Name list, click Add.


    • If you’re using a FireWire connection, the Printer Name will be E and the Connection will be Firewire.


    • If you’re using a TCP/IP Ethernet connection, the Printer Name will be your printer name with an ID number attached (such as StylusPro4800-B93073) and the Connection will be Bonjour.



    If you don’t see your printer listed under Printer Name, select the connection you’re using (EPSON should precede the connection name), select your printer, and then click Add.





    Note: If you don’t see your printer listed after you select the connection, restart your Mac and repeat steps 9 through 11.

  12. Close the window.
