The light indicates the scanner’s status:

Status Light
Scanner Status
Solid green
Ready to scan.
Flashing green
Initializing (warming up) or scanning.
Flashing red
An error has occurred. The scanner is not connected to your computer properly or your software is not fully installed.
Off
The scanner is off.
