My printer prints garbled characters from DOS and Windows. What should I do?
Try the following:
Make sure the cable does not have a loose connection. To check the connection, turn the printer and computer off, reconnect the cable on the printer and computer, then turn the printer and computer back on.
Use a fully shielded cable, preferably 6 feet or less in length.
Replace the cable.
Connect the cable and printer to another computer. If it works fine, have the computer port checked by an authorized dealer.
Connect the printer to another computer. If the printer prints garbage from the other computer, it needs to be serviced.
