This updater improves performance of the printer driver and Epson EasyPrint module.
Installation instructions (some of the following steps may not be necessary):
- Download the file.
- Double-click the downloaded file to create a disk image on your desktop.
- Open the disk image.
- Double-click the installer icon to begin the installation.

| | This file contains the Epson Stylus Photo 870 Printer Driver v3.0aAs for Intel-based Macintosh computers with OS X (v10.4.4 or later).
Installation instructions:
- Double-clicking this file creates an "epson11872_pho870_printer_driver_30aas" disk image on your desktop.
- Open the disk image.
- View the included "readme first.pdf" document for important information.
- Double-click the "EPSONLaserPrinter_30aEs" installer icon to begin the installation.
Important pre-installation instructions:
The Macintosh OS X driver found on the CD provided with your product is not intended for use with Intel-based Macintosh computers. If you have already installed the OS X printer driver provided on your product CD, please follow these important instructions before installing the "epson11872.dmg" file:
- Open the OS X "Printer Setup Utility".
- Select the "Printer Setup Utility" tab and click "Reset Printing System...".
- Click the "Reset" button.
- Restart your computer.
- Install the downloaded "epson11872.dmg" file.

Although these ICC profiles are made with the highest level of accuracy, please note that individual characteristics of each printer (model) produced may produce slightly different color than the production unit used for creating these specific ICC profiles. |

| | This file places a folder on your desktop labeled "Stylus Driver Updater v1.0cEs". Open the folder and double-click the "Epson Stylus Updater" file. This updater corrects file operation with Apple Macintosh Manager, improves compatibility with Remote Access, corrects an issue where characters printed from a word processor such as Microsoft Word or Appleworks gets clipped or dropped from the right edge of the printed page, and eliminates the issue of dots in the margin when using digital camera correction. It is recommended that you download and install the appropriate Mac OS and Firmware Updates from Apple (www.apple.com).
This file is for use with Macintosh System 7.1x - 9.0 for Macintosh/iMac/DV iMac/PowerMac G3/G4.

Open the folder labeled, Stylus Photo 870 V6.3AE and run the installer found in the folder labeled, Disk1. Read the Readme file on Disk1 for more details. Note: This driver will eliminate the need to use the Updater patch to resolve the character clipping issue.
