How do I clean the roll paper feeder?

  • To keep your product working at its best, you should clean the roll paper feed slot once a year using a new cleaning sheet.

Note: You can use a cleaning sheet only once.

You can purchase genuine Epson ink, paper, and accessories from an Epson authorized reseller. To find the nearest reseller, visit proimaging.epson.com (U.S.) or proimaging.epson.ca (Canada), select your product series and product, and click the Where to Buy button. Or call 800-GO-EPSON (800-463-7766) in the U.S. or 800-807-7766 in Canada.

    1. Turn on the printer.
    2. Make sure Load paper is displayed on the LCD screen and then select the icon. A screen appears with guidance on how to load roll paper. Ignore these instructions.
    3. Open the roll paper cover. Remove the roll paper, if necessary.

Note: Close the paper support if it is open.

    4. Remove the protective film from the cleaning sheet.

Note: Do not touch the adhesive on the sheet (the dark gray area).

    5. With the adhesive facing toward you, insert the cleaning sheet on the left side of the printer until it reaches the end of the roll paper feed slot, then pull it out. Repeat this two to three times. Repeat for the center and right side of the roll paper feed slot.

Note: Do not feed the cleaning sheet through the printer like regular paper or it could cause a paper jam. If the cleaning sheet gets fed through the printer, select the icon and then remove the cleaning sheet.

    6. Select Cancel on the LCD screen.

Note: If you want to stop a pending job, press the  power button to turn off the printer. If you want to continue a job, load the correct paper to print on.
